Spring: January to March

Examples of transitional spring clothing

• Jackets: Trench, leather, rain

• Shoes: Ballet flats, sneakers, loafers

• Clothing: Light-colored, lightweight fabrics such as cotton or linen, these fabrics are suitable for the warming weather of spring 

Other spring clothing tips

• Look for pieces of clothing that feature flowers, leaves, and pale colors 

• Experiment with bright and bold colors like pink, yellow, and blue 

• Dark, earthy tones are better for fall and winter

Summer: April to July

Examples of summer clothing

• Shoes: Sandals, sneakers, flip flops

• Clothing: Summer dresses, shorts, anything linen! 

• Swimwear: Brand new with tags still attached

• Breathable fabrics, light, breezy neutrals in cotton and/or linen and cream knits, flowy/wide-leg pants and matching sets.

We are not taking heavy wool sweaters, or winter jackets, hats or mitts yet

Winter: October to December

Examples of winter clothing

• Shoes: Winter boots (ex: Sorel or Pajar), Chelsea boots, Uggs, loafers

• Jackets: we take a minimal amount of outerwear BUT we are taking jackets in line with the following styles: faux fur, with Sherpa details, super long and/or oversized puffers**

• Clothing: Warmer fabrics such as cashmere and wool

Other winter clothing tips

• Accessories (hats & gloves), leather and faux leather, heavier knits

Non-seasonal items

Denim, sunglasses, jewelry, blazers, sneakers and purses.

Denim: High waist, wide leg, straight leg, barrel jeans. We are no longer accepting skinny jeans!

Jewelry: Minimalist, delicate pieces

Purses: We look for more bright and fun colours in the spring/summer and darker tones in the fall/winter.

Blazers: Oversized, cinched waist, hourglass blazers we love! We are not looking for fitted ‘office’ style blazers

Athletic wear: Lululemon or similar quality brands.

Book an appointment for up to 20 items. All items must be freshly laundered and neatly folded in a bag or basket.

We send e-transfers free of charge for balances over $100 and at a charge of $2 for balances under $100. If your balance is under $100, feel free to come to the store any time during our store hours to collect your balance in cash. If you decide to spend your balance back in the store, you will get 20% off your entire purchase.

You will receive an email notification when any of your items reach their expiration date. We will hold these expired items for one week from the date of the notification. After this period, the items will be donated to a women's shelter on your behalf unless you request a specific extension beforehand.

You can collect your balance in store at any time free of charge. Balances over $100 will be sent via e-transfers at no charge, there is a $2 fee for e-transfer requests under $100.

Please email info@trovefashion.com to request a payout via e-transfer. E-transfers are sent Tuesday and Friday mornings.

The reason for the $2 fee: Corporate bank accounts charge per e-transfer. Due to the numerous requests for e-transfers on small account balances, we have implemented a fee for accounts under $100 to help us recoup some of these costs and control the amount of e-transfers each month.

To maintain a thoughtfully curated collection, we carefully select items based on style, condition, and current demand.

We are looking for pieces that are:

• In excellent condition — freshly laundered and free of stains, odours, excessive wear, or damage

• Current and relevant styles, generally from the past 3–5 years, unless vintage or designer

• Well-made with quality fabrics such as denim, wool, silk, leather, linen, and premium blends

• Seasonally appropriate for the time of consignment

• From contemporary or designer brands

We are especially interested in:

• modern denim

• contemporary designer labels

• tailored pieces and blazers

• statement dresses

• quality outerwear

• unique accessories
